Hank is Wiser Brewery is housed in a historic building in Downtown Cheney, Kansas. Built in 1898, the Collins & Joslyn building was the first two story building in Cheney. It was constructed of brick, iron, and stone at a cost of $8,000.00. The building originally housed Cheney Drug Company and a General Store, and on the second floor were doctor offices and a Masonic Lodge. |

In January of
1907, a large fire swept all the frame structured buildings on the block
to the north of the Collins & Joslyn building. Volunteer firemen
poured thousands of buckets of water from the roof down the north wall
of the building, saving the remaining buildings in downtown to the south
of the building.

In the years to follow the building housed many grocery stores, a telephone company, a clothing store, a seamstress shop, and Champs Bar & Grill. In 2004 Hank bought the building and he and his son, steve remodeled what is now hank is wiser brewery. |
